Branding/naming My Approach To Exercise

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
So I just started my own business as a personal trainer(jbspersonaltraining.com) but am trying to find a name for my "system/approach/methods" to stay away from being lumped into all the others. famous trainers like Kevin Kearns has "burn with kearns" and even going back in time a bit here but Tony Little had
"tonys target training". I have a wide range of an athletic background but would like to appeal more to the wealthy business professional. any suggestions greatly appreciated.

More to the point is what would motivate a wealthy business professional to think of exercise. Either they are, or it's off the radar and they're thinking a round of golf is sufficient on a Saturday afternoon. What makes your system or approach special, and why should it appeal to someone who drives desks for a living?

More to the point, you need something special that you can offer them to rouse their interest - and coax them out of their seven series BMW ... and onto the track. You'll be doing it already, all you need do is emphasize this element of your skills to meet them half way.

    In the meantime:

JB's Personal training: getting you going after you've finished with your desk.
when your desk becomes too frustrating!
getting fit so sitting down feels great too.

So, what will make your training better/different from the other trainers in your area? Everyone wants to appeal to the "wealthy business professional" - why should they be interested in what you offer?

Right Im not looking to reach every person and convince them that they need to exercise but trying to be the best candidate if they are to choose someone. My experience and large client base who have all gotten results is my biggest selling point. But I get what you mean - what seperates me from everyone... hmmm... more wheels turning.

"My experience and large client base who have all gotten results is my biggest selling point." - wow!!

Okay - forget everything else. You are sitting on a pile of gold. There is no need to convince or connive - all you need do is be you.

    I will explain.

The very most effective branding is what you do best for those who need it most.

That evidence sits in your list of clients. Namely: there will be clients who you like and who like you too. This is not to say that you should treat any client less than any other, it is more that their character sort of engages quietly and effectively with your own. They are in many ways, the unnoticed in your list - yet careful observation will show them to be those who gain the most from your abilities.

What you need do is take your references and go through them. Note anything that is said - both good and bad. Noting especially things that are more than just "he's bloody fantastic and helped me greatly". What you're looking out for is more like "The way he stops to pause and consider my body's posture leads me to think he has an inner voice that tells him what I need" (not quite this drivel, but you get the drift). Not only will these form a distinct character, their writers will too. They will be appreciative and they will pay on time - and as mentioned cause little trouble.

Because getting more of them will do for you what you need. Once you've been through your list of references a few times pick out the salient issues and post them here. We can do the rest ;-)

That's when you get to brand yourself as the person you are. It's totally honest and it's bomb proof. Nobody can beat you at who you are, can they?

I'm not convinced that naming your approach will accomplish your objective. Strong testimonials and word-of-mouth referrals are likely to be more effective with your target audience.

Does your business have a name, or do you just use your own name for the business? How do your new clients learn about you now?
