Business Name For Furniture Repair And Consignment Store

Posted by allenfamily51 on 250 Points
I am opening a furniture resale/consignment store. I will also be doing furniture repair/restoration in the same building. It will be located in Show Low Az. This is a mountain town in the White Mountains. I am having a hard time coming up with a good name and tagline. I sure would appreciate help with this and who better to ask? Thank You, Dallas

Hi Dallas - the people to ask are those who will be buying from you! Actually, it's an open secret that Marketers don't actually do anything, they just ask the right people for their opinions ;-) ;-) ;-)

So you're selling and repairing furniture, and there will be people who want to buy furniture or have it repaired. How do you look to them? They drive by, see a store without a name - only it kinda looks like a furniture store and there's a guy inside working on making a desk drawer run nicely. What would be written in big red letters above the windows?

That's me thinking by the way. I'm sort of trying to form a picture of what you're up to and who you do it for - and what would make someone coming by in their pickup stop the next time with a sofa that needs a tear sewing up neatly. In other words, says what you do in a way that keeps you in mind when they get home and see their tired sofa.

If I'm on the wrong track, let me know - comment boxes are very small places.

How about Show Low Upholstery - furniture and repairs for the locality [that's me thinking up-down but low and up don't quite go ... ]

That'll have to do for now, my brain is congealing to a denser form of porridge. Apols.

A good name and tagline usually flow from the words your target audience would use to describe their needs, values, habits, practices, attitudes and awareness of their options. So who are these folks who would be your customers? Where are they buying their furniture today? Why might they switch and buy from you? What unique and important benefit will you offer them?

Are there other businesses like the one you're proposing in the area? If not, a simple name is likely to work best ("Show Low Furniture" or "Show Low Consignment").

Along the lines of Jay's suggestions, maybe name it .. "Deuce of Clubs Furniture" for the consignment showroom floor and then "Deuce of Clubs Restoration" for the repair shop.
