Mba Vs Ms In Marketing

Posted by nitesh on 125 Points
I am bit confused about what to pursue, MBA in marketing or MS in marketing.
I just did my bachelors with computers and wanted to pursue something like digital marketing(just an example).
But not certain which among the two offers what.

If you don't know where you're going, you'll end up someplace else.

Start this exploration by defining your goal. Why are you considering an MBA or an MS? Why do you want to "pursue something like digital marketing?" What would you want to be doing 5 or 10 years from now?

An MBA will prepare you for a more general business leadership role, while the MS will focus you more specifically on Marketing.

What do you want to do 3 to 5 years from now? Warning: it's unlikely to be what you think it will be. Choose wisely.

The questions above are good to ask yourself.

I'd also use the search of past questions, as this comes up reasonably often. A search for "Mba Vs Ms" and "Mba Vs Master" on this site will come up with at least a half dozen questions on this subject, and the answers there may be useful.

I think I messed up the words there, my interest lies in fields such as ecommerce, e-advertisment, social media-marketing etc.
And I want to be in a role where I could be working with these things in the future(I am not sure if I am using the correct words but its like using my IT skills in the marketing area).
So I was wondering which course should I go for?
