Name & Tagline For Housekeeping Cleaning Service

Posted by sewatseams custom tailor on 125 Points
I've been working for a housekeeping business for five years. We clean houses. I want to start my own housekeeping cleaning service.

I need a name for my business and a tagline. My targeted market is the senior citizens, living in and around my community.

I'd like to offer my services including housekeeping, shopping, errands, transporting my customer to appointments if required. A service my employer doesn't offer.

I live and work around the Cape Cod, Ma area and most are year rounder's and other's have vacation homes. The busy season for housekeeping is fast approaching and I'd like to be ready for the marketing part.

Please help me get started with a name and tagline and any advise you can offer would be very helpful.

Thanks, in advance,

Let's start with your unique positioning benefit. What makes you different from, and better than, other similar service providers in your area? Why should someone in your target audience hire YOU?

If possible we should capture that unique benefit in the name/tagline.

What will make my business different than other cleaning services is our competitive pricing. We are willing to do window cleaning and run errands for the elderly, when other cleaning businesses do not provide these services, so far.

Competitive pricing is a double-edge sword. It'll attract people looking for a "deal" and convey that your services are simply on-par with the rest. That won't make you stand out. If you want to specialize in cleaning homes for the elderly and running ads, that's one approach. Otherwise, you'll easily be lumped in with the others.

Are you planning to serve the whole Cape, or just a few cities in the area? That'll help clarify the name.

Price is never a good point to use as a differentiator. You can always be undercut or outbid.

With the errands and other services you're offering you're talking about a concierge business which is a wider undertaking than a cleaning business. What other similar services are there in the area you'll bet serving?

What don't they offer that you could? What don't they do that you will do? To what lengths do you go (and that you and that you alone can lay claim to), that others have not gone to? You need to think about positioning yourself as the first of something, or the leading something, or the premium of something. You then need numbers and services to back these promises up.

    Hi Gary,
After reviewing your comment on errands and other services, I think will pass on these service offerings. Serving the elderly, disabled and offering window cleaning other cleaning services do not offer differs from other.

We also pride ourselves on fast and efficient cleaning. I am bonded and insured and have good references. I'm not sure if these separates me from the rest. I'm hoping you can makes suggestions on how to stand out from the pack.

    Thanks,

Trust, reliability and friendliness will be a big part of what you sell. For that reason I'd use your name to make the business personal.

    {xxx} cleaning and home help

    Hello Everyone,

To: J H-Roth & briry, great name suggestions, unfortunately the one we liked Capecodcleaning is taken.
And to Saul.D, I thought of using my name Lucia Costa . I am of Portuguese heritage. I live and work where many Portuguese and Brazilians live. I thought if I use my name I would only attract mostly Portuguese people.

I know from experience some do not want to pay my hourly rate and want to negotiate. I feel by using my name would prevent me from expanding beyond the Portuguese/Brazilian community.

It may sound odd, it's just my thought. If you believe I should use my name, how many of you would agree? Let's hear your votes from the marketingprofs.

I don't know enough about your neighbourhood to know how people will react, but at some point your customers will meet you... You can also play some name games:

Costal Cleaning / La Costa Cleaning Services

    Other ideas

    Seaview Cleaning
    Windsweepers
    Stormforce cleaning
    Summer Breeze
    Saltair
    Deckhands
    Shipshape
    Servets

My vote is to not use your name, but instead try to communicate some benefit for the customer. And I'd focus on the primary benefit, not the side benefits. Example:

    Spotless!

    Hi Everyone,

I want to thank each and everyone for helping with ideas in selecting a name for our new business. We chose to use the name "The Cape's Top Cleaning Service" suggested by mgoodman.

    Thank you, very much,
    Lucia
