Wireless Lapel Mic For Recording Pp Presenters?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I need recommendations for a wireless, lavaliere mic that will allow our speakers to record their presentations as they do them. I want something that will sync with the powerpoint recording function and works without restricting their movement at all, so wireless usb based would work well. Does anyone have a recommendation for me? We have a speaker presenting next week and would love to have a better way to record than doing it in advance or afterward. Thank you!

Good video demonstrating the difference between low-end systems and mid-range systems. Gives you some things to think about.

The answer to your question is: it depends. How much do you want to spend?

I'd like to spend under $200 but if that means lousy quality I would like to know that as well.

The YouTube video linked above has a direct comparison of quality using a low-end system and a mid-range system. You can hear the difference yourself. It also depends on the maximum distance between the speaker/mic and the recording/receiving end, as transmission power is a factor (that ultimately will affect audio quality).

(Aside: My experience is that wireless adds a fair bit of risk to the quality of recording (for lower-end products)).
