Looking For A Tagline For Our Allergy Practice

Posted by katie.crosby on 250 Points
We are in very competitive market here and am looking for a tagline that sets us a part but drives home our message.

We treat adults and children.
Allergies and Asthma.
We end up seeing the whole family often.
We live in the Lowcountry.

A tagline that "sets [you] apart" will be one that communicates a unique benefit for your primary target audience. Just coming up with some cutesy and meaningless slogan will be seen as more of a distraction.

So let's start with a couple of basics:

    1. Who exactly is your primary target audience? What do you know about them? How do they select an allergist? What are the criteria they use?

    2. And then: WHY might they select you? What makes you any different from, and better than, all the other allergists in the Lowcountry?

P.S. What's the name of the practice? The tagline needs to "fit" with the name. (Are you "Charleston Allergy & Asthma?")

If we can get good answers to those questions, we can definitely come up with a tagline that will do what you want it to.

If you are "Charleston Allergy & Asthma" then you need a tagline that focuses on the BENEFIT, not the problem. Maybe something like:

    "A Breath of Fresh Air"

    1. Our target audience is women 30-40s, often moms. They find us typically online or word of mouth.
    2. Our competition is not the other allergists but ENTs who are not board certified doing allergy, so it is tricky to identify the differences and not slander.
    3. Yes, name is Charleston Allergy & Asthma.

Love that you said "A Breath of Fresh Air," as I have that one written down, along with: "Breathe Better. Feel Better. Live Better."

You need to explain/promote the benefit to patients of board certification. You don't need to denigrate the ENTs; just explain why board certification is a benefit to the patient. Focus on the BENEFIT FOR THE PATIENT.

@mgoodman Was only trying to further explain our market at your request. In no way trying to slander our competitors, although they are doing that to us. We need them, however, they do not need us. These are great, but not quite what we are looking for. Thanks for these great suggestions!! Keep 'em coming!

You wrote: "These are great, but not quite what we are looking for."

Maybe if you tell us what you are looking for, and why these are not that, we'll be able to come up with what you're looking for.

This may be the first time a client wants something that is NOT great!! :)

What is the benefit (for the patient) of the fact that your allergists are board certified? As a patient should I care about that? Why?

@mgoodman: The layperson doesn't care about board certification. But, they are receiving sub standard care. So, it is a balancing act to try and educate the consumer, but not shove it down their throat. The lines that include what we do, ie "A Breath of Fresh Air" or @Mike Steffes "You can breathe easier with us." That is the type of tagline I am looking for.
