Am a human resource professional in transition. Looking for assistance in creating a tagline of what I can bring to the table.

Although I agree with the feedback, previous responses did not assist with the creation of a tagline.

If you're looking for a job you do not need a tag line.

WOW! What a thoughtless and narrow-minded response. Thanks Gary Bloomer. If you don't have any ideas just say so; instead of assuming what I do and don't need.

I'll try to be gentler. Why do you think a tagline would be useful in your job search? Who is the target audience, and what do you want the tagline to communicate?

Your job search shouldn't be a "person for hire" plea for employment. It should be a carefully researched "here's specifically what I can do for your company (that you need)."

And if you really DO need a tagline, it should be a different one for each prospective employer, reflecting the serious homework you've done and letting them know you are not using a clumsy shotgun approach.

As you've given NO information as to what you bring to the table (apart from an attitude and 25 points), how is anyone to know how to assist you?

To get hired you need to dramatically and memorably show an employer what you can do for them, you need to demonstrate how you can add value to their business and if you think a tag line ALONE will do this you're very much mistaken.

To be clear, I stand by my response to your last question: Rather than talking about yourself and what you've done, tell a prospective employer how you can help make their lives easier.

As an HR professional what do YOU look for in a candidate? What have YOU seen other candidates do that automatically raised red flags with you? Whatever those things are, don't do them. If your goal is to re-engineer your LinkedIn profile invest time and effort in reviewing the pages of other HR professionals and experts in the field to see what THEY do, then, find whatever appeals to you in those profiles and build on it.

LinkedIn isn't about tag lines: it's about making connections and following up on those connections in a spirit of adding value and in a spirit of helping other people get what they're looking for. Using this strategy (without a tag line) it is possible to increase your LinkedIn connections by 700% in under 60 days.

    How do I know this?

Because I've done it in under 45 days.

    Good luck to you.
