Need A Catchy Name For A Jewelry Business

Posted by fixel_jordyn on 250 Points
Hello! My name is Jordyn and I am trying to find a creative, catchy name for the homemade jewelry business that I am starting up. My sister is doing the same and has come up with Jami Leigh Jewelry so I don't want the names be too similar so it seems like I am copying her... I was thinking of possibly using my first name or my last name, Fixel. Other people have suggested that I use the word toggle or other jewelry related words in my name.
I have come up with a few possible names such as Beaded Beauty, Charmed Life, Forever Charmed, Beads and Beyond, Bracelets Beads and Beyond, Knot Just Beads, Bead Head, or Jordyn's Jewels. I am not extremely fond of any of these but they could work. I hope you can help me come up with other names preferably including my name! Your input is incredibly useful. Thank you very much for your help!

    Jewelry by Jordyn.

A name is less about being "catchy" than it is about being relevant. What would your reaction be if a client were to ask for jewelry that had to be more jeweled? Or shiner? Twinklier? And so on. Here's an idea: why not join focus with your sister?

What's the objective of the name? Is it to let the world know that you made the jewelry? Or is it to engage them in your promise to deliver jewelry that will make them feel good about themselves (and buy some)? If it's the former, then by all means it should include your name -- "Jordyn Fixel Jewelry" or "Jewelry by Jordyn."

If, on the other hand, the name is supposed to engage your audience, you might want to consider another approach -- using a word or phrase that expresses the emotional payoff for the customer when they buy and wear your creation(s).

Before you pick a name, think about what you want the name to say or do for you. Otherwise you will drown in naming options and none will be quite right. It's the old thing about, "If you don't know where you're going, you will end up someplace else." (Yogi Berra's version of the Lewis Carroll line.)

Some of the names you've listed lack a little stand-out, which can be OK if you're trading as a shop on location but can get lost when everyone has a similar name. For this reason, Personal names are a good way of tying your reputation to what you make and make you unique, particularly if you're selling locally to people who know you, or know of you. But you can also get creative, or even just choose a word that you like and add Jewelry to it.

    Fixelate
    Offixel Jewelry
    Jordyfix Jewelry
