Catchy Summer Slogan For Sale

Posted by kelly.djohnson on 250 Points
I am a massage therapist and want to run a "summer" special. Looking for something eye catching to say instead of summer special or 4th of July special. Any ideas.

    What IS the "summer special?"

I would be concerned about appearing too promotion-oriented, because it has the potential to discount or depreciate the perceived value and quality of the service normally, or it could lead people to wonder why you are offering a special now.

Particularly if the "special" is price oriented, it will let folks know that your service really isn't worth what you normally charge. You'll have trouble charging them full price once you let them know you'll work for less.

Instead of saying something "eye-catching," maybe you can remind your target audience of the important and unique benefit you deliver as a massage therapist. That message will probably last longer than any "summer special" anyway.

If you are determined to promote with a summer special, then we'll need to know who the target audience is. Is it current clients or new prospects? Men or women? Tourists or locals? Weekend warriors or serious athletes or couch potatoes? Where? What's the offer? How will they find out about the deal?

    Relevance. Not catchy. Relevance.

What makes you different, better, or easier to work with? Avoid talking to me about price. There are two kinds of clients: price averse and price immune. The latter are tyre kickers, bargain hunters, and freebie merchants. You don't need or want this kind of client. they'll bankrupt you, either finically or fiscally.

Sorry, that ought to read "the former" price averse clients are tyre kickers, etc.

I suppose it really isn't a special, more like purchase a series of massages and receive a discount. Ie: buy 2 get a discount, buy 4 get a discount etc...the audience is new clients, but could also be purchased by current clients.

My prediction: The special you describe (essentially a price discount) won't attract as many new clients as a great ad that explains your unique positioning benefit and focuses on what you can do for a client.

I get that. I will rethink this and see what I can put together. Thanks so much ch for the input.

Summer brings more time outdoors and long evenings. Can you create or position a summer service? For instance al fresco, candle lit, moon light massage? Or against the heat an ice massage or cold-rolling? Message at the pool, or water-based massage say 'aqua'puncture? Ot floral? Or pre-vacation relax? Even if it's therapy, I'm sure it can be tweaked to the season.
