    I understand about buying is that the consumer actual wants to buy, he has an intention of buying, he has purchase power and ready to buy and in shopping the consumer yet not ready to buy.... is that true ???

    do all shoppers have purchased power? If I start looking at generators online, does that necessarily mean that I can afford one?

    And what does it mean to be, "ready to buy". What would the specific components of such "readiness" be? And how would it be different for a single person, a married person, and a person acting or researching on behalf of a corporation?

    You are close.

    Shopping = gathering information (about a possible purchase)

    Buying = consummating a transaction to acquire something

    To Michael's excellent advice I'll add:

    Shopping = the selection process.
    Buying = a transactional decision.
