Name For Fun Advice/review Blog

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am starting an anonymous advice blog. I myself would be anonymous, as well as those who send in questions. I plan on doing reviews of current events and personal events. I just want it to be something you can read and just laugh at all the mundane things in life. It will be fun, silly, and a little sarcastic.

The pen name I'm using is JB Cross. I will be using wordpress, tumblr, a facebook page and possibly an instagram. I'm not 100% on the FB and instagram yet.

I just need some help coming up with a fun, catchy title for this adventure. My targeted audience would be 18-35. It would not be appropriate for children. I hope that it would appeal to more than the age group I initially want to target, but that is still far in the future.

How will you define yourself in the market place?

What subject matter is your audience searching for?

Which sites will you compete against?

How will you outrank those sites?

Which sites will you link to?

How will you distribute content to high-traffic sites?

My audience should be looking for advice and funny takes on current events.
I would compete against many blogs, plus a few big names like buzzworthy.
I don't believe I will outrank them to begin with. It will take time and I'm only one person.
Sites like facebook, tumblr. I'm unsure of what you're asking exactly.
Right now I'm more focused on getting the blog started. It was an idea that I'm trying to make reality.

Rather than thinking what you your audience "should" be looking for, you need to know what they ARE looking for. You then need a solid plan to drive traffic TO your site, and you need a solid plan to then keep those visitors ON your site.

How will you create and deliver advice and "funny takes" on current affairs? You need a content creation policy that keeps you on track. Might these be two entirely different markets? Might it be better to start off with one market, just to test things out?

According to the digging I've just done, Buzzworthy currently gets 21,900 visitors a month and has 500,000 followers on Facebook. How will you use this kind of following to inform your content creation efforts?

What will make your site stand out against your competition? How much content will you need to get things rolling? If you're just one person, how will you then create and distribute new content?

You need a plan in place for all this as well as a name. But to stand out, the name needs to be relevant to an interest, or to a specific niche. This way, your site will be easier to find through organic search.

"Steal" a little inspiration of famous sites already out there and make it your own - unique, witty, clever, whatever tone you want to set for it.
