What's special about the olive oil? Who's your target audience? Why would they switch brands to your oil? How does this fit into your homework assignment?

i have to prepare a project based on these questions. so kindly give some guidelines to the questions you've asked. according to me olive oil will be available at lower price than the competitors. can it be a reason for prefernce?

Lower price is a signal of lower quality. Is that what you want to communicate?

Price means less than it's given credit for.

Olive oil and vegetable oil are two different oils. Technically, olives are a fruit.

Additionally, and from what I've read of your need, you have a project to do and you want someone else to do the work for you. That's not how this forum works.

What efforts and ideas have you already put in and come up with? What logo ideas appeal to you? What names and tag lines do you favor and why?

olive oil is a kind of oil. i do not want the information regarding olives Gary Bloomer.
can anyone please help me ny suggesting some good names for a olive oil brand?

"I do not want the information regarding olives Gary Bloomer."

    Really?

Similarly, I don't much care to waste my time on students who cannot or will not provide feedback on the efforts they've already invested, which in this case I suspect is zero.

I made the point about oil TYPE to clarify what it is you're looking for because there appeared to be a degree of uncertainty on your part.

I cannot help you if you're unwilling to provide details on what you're a;ready done to help yourself.

What names have you already thought of?

What kind of visuals appeal to you?

What names and tag lines do you favor CURRENTLY favor or prefer?

Believe it or not I really AM trying to help you.

Who is the ideal buyer for this oil? In what price range? In what country?

What kind of heritage does this oil have? How can its heritage be capitalized on in order to give it a name worthy of people's attention?

In order to RESONATE with buyers, brands need stories. What is this product's story and how will you tell it?

If you know nothing of the provenance of the olive oil and what it means to customers how are you going to set on a name? Extra virgin olive oil is a luxury product sold by olive variety and location (eg arbequina or hojiblanca from Spain, kalamata from Greece, leccino from Italy) even down to the olive grove for high end speciality oils for use in restaurants. As Gary said, you have to do your homework, the first 30 minutes of research on Wikipedia would tell you this is a specialist product with discerning buyers. The key to good naming is a solid understanding of what the customer is looking to buy.

The brand name isn't so much about the product as it is about the benefit a consumer/customer can expect when they buy/use it. Get the positioning right, and the name will take care of itself.

i am looking for a target audience in a country like india where even the comman man can afford to purchase the oil.
  • Posted by palod.saloni on Author
i am not sure the way it can be relalted to a story. but can it be like .. olive oil in india is only purchased by the rich households. so the oil which i am bringing in fornt of them will be of good quality but at a price lower than my competitors in the industry.this can induce the middle class to come forward and and consume it.

    target market*
  • Posted by Gary Bloomer on Accepted
So, you have no specific market, in no particular nation. In India it seems olive oil is only purchased by people who can afford it. Yet you'll be targeting less affluent buyers?

You've not given us anything to work with except it will be cheap - you can't say where from, what its qualities are, what the customer might use it for (skin care, frying, or dressing) or what might attract them to your product.
