Need Help With Hr Consulting Tagline

Posted by shannonspurgeon1979 on 250 Points
Hello all!
I am starting up a HR Consulting firm for non-traditional needs. The company name is Rate R Consulting.

Focus is on unique, non traditonal companies ie breweries, start ups, anyone basically who doesn't want the typical cookie cutter HR.

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks!!

First, what does "Rate R Consulting" mean? And who/where is your primary target audience? How do they know if they do/don't want "the typical cookie cutter HR?" What does that even mean?

Before you start working on the tagline, you need to define your target audience much more specifically, and you need to know what they need, want and value. What are they doing now? Are they satisfied/dissatisfied? Why?

If you don't have a marketing plan, perhaps that's the place to start. It will impose a discipline on you that will ultimately result in a meaningful and on-strategy positioning statement, name and tagline for your company, one that communicates a unique and important benefit for your [well-defined] target audience.

Stupid phone autocorrected me. Company name is Rated R Consulting.

Primary target is located in MN and is alternative businesses, not corporate, companies who currently do not have HR. They know they need it but do not think the traditional services (ie cookie cutter) will fit their needs.

For example recently did an employee handbook which was a pop-up book for a local brewery.

"Rated R Consulting" means that you do stuff that isn't suitable for children? I don't get it. Is it sex, violence, adult content, language or nudity that makes this "Rated R?" What am I missing?

Can you be explicit about the unique benefit you provide? Why would a prospective client want to contact you? What important need do they have that would make you the perfect solution? How do they "know they need it?" How/why would traditional services not fit their needs? How would they know that?

I'm still a little confused about the core business proposition.

i think you're being too edgy for your own good, but here goes:

= HR for the rest of us

= Explicit HR (or some twist of this, as HRX sounds bad-ass)

    = Employer Advisory: HR Content

    = Fringe / Benefts

Companies that currently don't have HR, might not be fully aware of the benefits HR could provide. My guess is that then they would want help on a case-by-case basis. So you could focus on typical projects/issues. (I also don't feel Rated R says much, and it's easily abused as a name - eg Rated R...ubbish).
