Realtor Team Looking For A Cool, Hip Slogan

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
We are a real estate team of 2 people who sell and list real estate in Philadelphia. We sell mostly to younger, first-time home buyers and need a short, catchy slogan that will resonate with our market. Any ideas?

As I recall, you asked a similar question in June, 2015. Here's a repost of my answer:

Slogans don't brand. If anything slogans position the business they're supporting and they condition the prospect's thinking. But in terms of "branding", the element that does all the heavy lifting is the client's experience of the service they receive.

What do you want your client's experience of working with you to be? If a client asked you to show them apartments or houses that were more housey or more apartmenty, what would your reaction be? The same applies in marketing to the request for something "catchy".

Slogans don't need to be "catchy". They need to be relevant to the need you're serving, and they need to connect to the experience and the memory you want to create.

You're not selling real estate, you're helping clients find somewhere they'll call home. The former is a commodity; the latter is an enduring, lasting experience. The difference is huge.

Thank you Gary. I'm asking for fun suggestions for a tag line though. I'm hoping this forum can stay fun and entertaining rather than a marketing lesson we all know. Let try to keep this light, airy and a place to come for suggestions.

Why would younger, first-time home buyers choose to work with you? What do you know (better) than your competition doesn't? What types of homes are your buyers purchasing? Where?

What is the desired communication of your tagline? What do you want the target audience to know about you? What makes you different from, and better than, other young realtors in your market?

"Catchy" is a mistake. "Catchy" makes you seem less serious about the benefit you deliver that makes you unique (and desirable). It says, "We don't really have any good reason you should choose us, so we'll amuse or entertain you with our catchy/witty slogan instead."

I'm OK with fun, light, airy and entertaining, but your preference and mine are irrelevant. It's your target audience we need to reach. And it's worth the extra effort to find the concept and the words that will resonate with them. They probably want a serious benefit and a legitimate reason to choose you as their realtor.

What is the name of your company? What sets you apart in the world of real estate?

shopify has a free slogan creator that suggests over a thousand taglines around a keyword you enter. I won't post a link and be spammy, but you're smart enough to find it. It helped me think of new phrases and narrow down to a list of ten I loved. Best of luck to you.
