Can a good product sell itself? No.

You can have the best product in the most competitive niche at the best price, but if no one knows about the product, it may as well not exist. This is where marketing comes in.

It's marketing's job to seek out the niche and to present the product in that niche. Marketing then outlines the problem the product solves, it dramatizes the problem, it then presents the product to the market place as the only logical solution to the problem, and it then describes the product's benefits while helping the prospect overcome any objections to then close the sale.

In a word, NO. See Gary's response above.

Do you mean can you develop a world-class product, offer it for sale, and then sit back and watch the money roll in? It's possible if you have the ONLY solution to a problem that plagues people (a medical illness, for example), but you still need to incentivize people who love your product to share it with others. Otherwise, how will people know if what you're selling works?
