Meditation And Mindfulness, The Missing Link

Posted by vrlongaz on 250 Points
I am looking for a good title and tag line to get attention for people to want to take my classes to learn meditation (easily and effortlessly). Currently I say Meditation and Mindfulness is the the Missing Link to health and happiness. It brings the inner connection that makes things happen. rather than expecting outside connections to do the work for you.

Are you trying to educate people who don't the know the benefits of meditation to try our your services, or are you trying to say, "My classes are better than my competition's"?

What's the name of your business?
Who specifically is likely interested in what you're offering?
    Where are you/they located?
How can you prove that what you offer is unique/different?

What's the unique and compelling reason someone in your target audience would come to you? Who is that target audience? Where? How would they learn about you? Why should they believe/trust you?

Please answer Jay's questions above too. Thx.

The "missing link" between what and what? I don't fully understand the claim. What is the benefit for your ideal client?

Meditation and Mindfulness, the Missing Link
People between ages of 18 - 85 are interested in Meditation
I am advertising in a 20 miles radius in Scottsdale, AZ
I am Certified with the McLean Meditation Teacher's Academy.
The reason I am different is that I am not teaching only one specific way to meditate. I have a variety of techniques to offer for the client to find the way that works best for them. There are many ways to practice, it is not a one way for all, as we are all different with different personalities.
My audience is anyone that would like to change something about their life.
The Missing Link. Meditation brings together the physical, mental and emotional systems together for healing and happiness. After many years working in the hospital environment, then years studying alternative ways of healing, I discovered that meditation creates the 'bridge' to bring You into the healing process that allows the body to heal, no matter what method of healing you choose (mainstream or alternative). Until You connect inside, the outside factors will not heal you. I have had over 20 years in healthcare, hypnotherapy, and reflexology, among other modalities for healing. I am certified with the McLean Teacher Academy.
The benefit for the client is an improvement in their life (whatever that may be) because they become present to live and be a part of the life they have. I cannot change what happens in life; meditation can change how you deal with what happens in life.

Do you know what percentage of people 18 - 85 "are interested in Meditation?" The problem I'm having is that your target audience definition is keyed to a methodology or process, not a benefit. How would you target that audience? Is there some behavior or independent "marker" that identifies people interested in meditation and differentiates them from those who are not interested in meditation?

It sounds like you are saying, "I want to reach people who are interested in what I want them to be interested in." Circular logic -- and not helpful from a marketing standpoint.

I understand what you are saying. Most people that are interested in Meditation are looking for some way to better their life. It could be a health or emotional or relationship issue. Health or healing, peace or contentment. I believe when they find the way to connect to themselves, whatever it is they are searching for will appear. However, they first need to be open for it. Health could be a physical issue, like chronic pain, or a chronic disease, emotional could be addiction or depression or grief, and relationship could be family or looking for a mate, or friends.

It sounds like you are in the business of healing troubled people. I know that sounds crass and cuts to the quick, but it's important that we/you are very clear about the target audience and the ultimate benefit you deliver.

What terms would your troubled target audience search (on Google, for example) for which you'd like to come up at the top of page 1 of the search result?

I've consulted with clients who "only treat people with problems," so your promise needs to be "I will eliminate your pain." You can't promise "feel better" to everybody, because those who are not aware of their problem -- and who may need help the most -- won't identify with the promise.

"Are you feeling great? Yes? Well, I can make you feel better." Not an appealing concept to that target audience. When you're feeling great, feeling better isn't high priority.

That leaves you with, "Feeling lousy? I can [show you how to] fix that." Not a great marketing promise because it focuses on the elimination of a negative, not a direct and positive benefit.

This is a good exercise for me, too. Some people hear about meditation to improve memory, or sport performance, concentration, etc. It is not always "pain". However, if there is no room for improvement in one/s life, there is no reason to look for things to improve it. I don't claim to eliminate 'pain" (whatever that may be), but to find ways to deal with the obstacles that come along in life. Many times the obstacles become the bridge to success.
