My husband is taking over the tree service company he has worked for, for almost 20 years. He started when he was just a teenager. We live in the south, Alabama to be exact. The company is currently owned by one person, is not incorporated and there are only 3 employees. The current name of the business includes the name of the owner ___ ___ Tree Service. My husband will takeover the company, as in all of the clients/customers and the trucks and equipment, but not the name. He does not want to use his name. We will make the company an LLC, and want to include Tree Service, possibly include Maintenance as well. They do little landscaping (as in lawn care, or planting flowers/shrubs) however they do trim the large bushes such as elaeagnus vines, and holly that are used for privacy fences in larger upscale neighborhoods. They are not a typical tree trimming/cutting company. They do not use heavy equipment on the customer’s lawn. A climber will literally climb the tree, and each piece, branch or section is cut and roped down, where it is cut into large pieces on the ground. Then picked up and carried on their shoulders to the dump truck, in order to haul off the mess left behind. This is part of the main reason they get the work they do in the larger neighborhoods. There is no damage done to the lawn. They trim, cut, and fall trees as well as grind the stumps left behind.
