Tag Line - Sjb Promotions

Posted by jill on 500 Points
I'm needing to update my tag line. I've purchased the company which references the previous owners initials -SJB. We sell imprinted products and help find balance between budget and the quality of a promotional product. Although we do in-house decoration, we are now doing more business in the promotional products industry.
Current tag line: more than just promotional products
We are also certified as woman owned and small business

I don't want to copy another promotional product company's tag so I'm hoping for a creative approach for the items we give away at the shows we attend to gain clientele.

In view of the fact that you have marked this as urgent, I will ask you for some information that you may or may not have time to answer. If you can, that will be helpful but if not, then I have suggested some thought provokers for you to consider. But please understand that they are created without knowing a lot about your commercial operations.

    Useful background information:

    1. What are the taglines for your major competitors (we at KHE do not want to inadvertently suggest a tagline that may already be in use by another company).

    2. What are the industries of your larger customers?

    3. Why are they using your services (be as detailed as possible)?

    4. What were your major reasons for acquiring SJB Promotions?

Some thought-provokers as examples for consideration:

    SJB Promotions
… we help our clients to connect effectively with their customers.

    SJB Promotions
… for effective connections with customers.

    SJB Promotions
… we help our clients to create brand awareness with their customers

    SJB Promotions
… helping our clients to recruit customers, one gift at a time.

As there are a wealth of promotional products companies, why do customers purchase from YOU? What products, services, or knowledge do people get that they can't get elsewhere? Why change the tagline – is the current tagline confusing customers?

If we come up with a handful of name candidates, how are you going to decide which to use? What are the main criteria for picking a new tagline? If we know that in advance, there's a much better chance we'll deliver a solution for you.

My suggestion is that you focus on the core benefit your customers feel they get when they deal with you, and we communicate THAT benefit in the tagline. The current tagline says you are a promotional products company, but it is vague/unclear about how you are different from, and better than, your competitors.
