    hi cissy1uk

PEST analysis stands for Political, Economic, Social and Technological Analysis.

in SWOT analysis you analyze the company's Strengths and Weakness and also the Opportunities of and Threat from competitors to the company.

while is PEST Analysis, you analyze the Political, Economic, Social and Technological factors affecting the business/organization as well teh industry. in this analysis you also assess the market in which you will operate.

remember PEST analysis is done before doing the SWOT analysis, not the other way round, as it helps to identify factors of SWOT analysis.

hope this helps. check the links given by carl, they are good.

    cheers!!
