Looking For The Right Marketing Plan Software

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am writing a plan that needs to be kindy of beefy in terms of how the market will develop and what the product is as it is a new product. But I work for a big company so I don't need it to be so heavily focused on startup type issues. Please advise or share your experience with different Software tools.
Thanks

    Hi Worm,

Because your need is so specialized I think you are going to be better off editing those sections yourself.

The problem with the templates is although they are effective they tend to be very standard and generic.

It would be O.K. to use one to get jump-started but there will be no substitute for doing "by hand" those sections you feel are most important.

Now, if you need specific help with that, you can always repost back here once you have it outlined and some of the content in place.

    I hope that helps.

I am with Pepper Blue on this - I would just use your favorite word processor and spreadsheet program.

I'm with Peter and Pepper Blue. Don't use software for this task. Learn what you need to learn and construct the marketing plan yourself. You'll be smarter when you're done, and you'll do a better job.

I must have misunderstood what you're going to do with this marketing plan. Is this for "show" or for "go"? Is this supposed to be the marketing plan for your product and your target audience or for someone else's?

The industry and the size of your company have very little to do with the advice we're giving you. If it's the outline of a marketing plan you're looking for, that's available. But if you are looking for "software" to create the plan from information that's already available, I continue to believe you're not going to find what you're looking for and you'll end up having to do the very thing you're trying so hard to avoid.

If you don't need to learn "how to write a marketing plan structually," then what is it you think you'll get from a "template to structure all this information and make it look good?"

Perhaps I don't understand your question. I'm not trying to be difficult.
