conrad has given a great example of dealer/distributor networks in automobile industry.

another industry the same replicated is the White Goods (Consumer Electronics) industry. the reasons are same as automobile industry, high cost of maintaining showrooms, inventory and distribution.

for your case, aparently it seems you also need to have similar dealer/distributor network so that your existing and prospective clients can easily have accessto /be serviced by your products thorugh that network. otherwise they will have to call you and you have service him no matter where he is located, this will create delays and dissatisfaction on customer.
