Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Good day.
I am a student of marketing and Management, and are in dire need of someone to help me with a one-week statistics\methodology assignment.

In this i require help from someone that is VERY familiar with the SPSS program... i will not ask for answers, just how to find them using the program.

example :
in a a survey made for a shop, "gender" and "satisfaction" is listed as two variables.
- is it so that MEN are more satisfied with the shop than women ?
- how do one find this using SPSS ?

i only ned to know where to look, and what to define. the rest ( reading the results) i can do.... i just got the note that we were to have this assignment, and none in my group has ever used the program...

please please .. i desperately need your help ... we will be given the assignement in a few days time.....

    Hi Vihalvor,

    Welcome to KHE,

    I have only used SPSS a few times but the way you set up for gender is to assign a number to each possible value

    eg

    male =0
    female =1

    Satisfaction

    not satisfied = 0
    satisfied=1
    very satisfied =2

    etc etc

    You could also try

    https://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/profile.asp?userID=264857

    He is an expert in SPSS, there is also a marketer that works at SPSS on the board (but i cant remember there name)

    Also try looking in the help files of the program

    That a X "Kai" Squared test (i think), it should be in the help files what you need to push to do that.

    Did they just give you a copy of spss and no help on how to use it?

    Can you utilise the tech support site for SPSS - if you are a full user, you will have the serial number in help / about - if you are using NetGenesys or other derivatives, there are alternative logons.

    If you access the site via:

    https://www.utexas.edu/its/rc/answers/

    You will also find a context driven portal which will explain the algorithmic nature of the tests you are going to have to perform and how to go about them.

    It's a bit difficult to coach someone through the process at key-stroke level via this web site without knowing the exact detail of the assignment and that would, as you say, be going too far.

    Here's another help site: https://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/spss/

    And here's a specialised SPSS forum where you can post for help: https://web.uccs.edu/lbecker/discSPSS_frm.htm

    And here is another help forum https://www.pakmedinet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?TopicID=13 and another https://www.tek-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=836

    I would post the specific question on each of those forums (fora??) and hope some experts on the system come to your aid.

    Good Luck!
