Name For Yakitori Quick Service Restaurant

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am having a hard time coming up with a memorable name that decsribes what my new QSR will serve.

Yakitori is "grilled or barbequed chicken" in Japanese. Traditionally, chicken (or other meats) is skewered on bamboo sticks and manually grilled in open fire. In my case however, skewered meats and vegetables will be grilled by an automated griller. When customers come into the restaurant, it is a visual treat just to watch the machine work.

The decor of the restaurant will be clean, crisp and very modern. Think IPod.

Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

I'm not convinced that the name itself needs to describe what your restaurant will serve. The thing that's most interesting, to me at least, is the idea of th machine grilling the skewered meats and vegetables rather than the person. Could you tell us a little more about why it would be a "visual treat" to watch the machine. Also, I'd love to know where the restaurant will be located.

    Thanks,

    Yakitori ga suki desu!

How about Yakitori Isogi (Yakitori Hurry). The Japanese will understand and non-Japanese will consider it more authentic.

Try to keep the grilling process interesting. When Krispy Kreme donuts started people used to love watching. After a while they just wanted the donuts.

    Good luck!

    hi *

taking cue from the visual treat of the grilling, some ideas on naming you restaurant on "grill".......

    1. "Sheek Yakitori"
    2. "Sheek Kabab" (that means iron rod grilled meat in coal fire, in Bengali). you can make spell sheek like "Schick" to make it a little funky, hence "Schick Kebab"

    3. "Sekuwa (thats Nepali for iron rod grilled meat in coal fire)
    4. "Sekuwa Yakitori"

    hope this helps.

    cheers!!
