Does Anyone Use A Merchandising Calender?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am trying to compile a Marketing/Merchandising Calender that will bring together all our Marketing initiatives into one place. (i.e. starting and ending dates for various email, on-site, ppc campaigns) It seems a daunting task to get organized. Does anyone use a method such as this? Do you have any tips for implementing the calendar and making sure all the right information for decision making is included?

Maybe you could use MS Project?

You can paste in items from Excel or Word, and use the Project functions and features to roll up the pre-work under each project heading, and see critical paths, drop-dead dates, implications of moving a promo, and so on.

Worth a look, but if you haven't used MSProject before, it's quite a lot to get used to.

    Good Luck.

    Hi Lindsay

As I’m a Maximizer Business Partner, I use the calendar in Maximizer Enterprise and the Marketing Campaign Manager. It allows me to schedule all sales and marketing activities, allocate resources and include staff members and external partners from its address book. The hot-list gives me reminders for items which can be alarmed and a built in email reminder system shoots off emails before appropriate deadlines.

Using KnowledgeSync or workflow automation, the status of all scheduled events can also be monitored, so if you’ve wilfully missed something, big-brother can let you know about it!

In addition, the fruits of your labours (Leads or enquiries) can be logged in the address book (Automatically if they come in as emails) against the campaign activity which produced them, allowing you to track the effectiveness of your marketing work.

Results can be passed on as leads, to be followed up by sales and if they show promise, they can be entered into the opportunity manager where they can be given a cash value, % chance of closing the business and a close date – thus giving you a sales forecast.

It takes a bit of setting up, but for a £300 piece of software and some configuration consultancy, it’s very effective. I have a one-man band client who runs his whole business from a single Maximizer licence!

Have a look at our website on my profile if you want some further details.

I have an excel calendar set up so each branch has their own worksheet, but click on Update on the master worksheet and they are all transferred to the master sheet.

Email me and I will send you it.

    Good Luck :-)
