All of the above suggestions are very good, but despite Henri’s optimism, they won’t work overnight, more like in a month or so.

Publicity connected with your website in the national press will do the trick but don’t do what one of my ex-clients did. He got himself arrested due to the inflammatory nature of some of his web postings and the subsequent splash in the local and then the national press gave his ISP heart failure due to the traffic on his site.

You need to do something really newsworthy or bizarre enough for the nationals to want to run a story on it. I’d never heard of Paris Hilton despite staying in half or her dad’s hotels, until she put out a press release to let the world know that she was doing lewd things on her website!

Hope not to meet you in jail!

Steve's onto something. You could follow the same strategy as Golden Palace, the e-casino that keeps getting itself in the news by doing outlandish things... like winning an eBay auction for the grilled cheese sandwich with the Virgin Mary's toasted likeness.

They're getting millions of dollars of "free" airtime from pulling $30,000 stunts like these. And you can bet that gets them some serious web traffic, too.   ;]

    peter,

Do a Google Search for Free Traffic, and check out each of the links, including the sponsored links, doing what each has requested you to do for all that great free traffic.

After you see your web logs swell with new visitors, pay attention to how many actually become clients / customers.

Based on what you learn from that experience, then come back to this forum and ask the next question.

    Hope that helps.
