YouTube is the most widely used social platform by adults in the United States, according to recent research from the Pew Research Center.
The annual report was based on data from a survey conducted between February and June, 2025, among a national representative sample of 5,022 people ages 18 and older living in the US.
Some 84% of US adults say they use YouTube, 71% say they use Facebook, and 50% say they use Instagram.

Some 52% of US adults say they go on Facebook daily and 48% say they go on YouTube daily.

The share of US who use TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Reddit has increased significantly since 2021.

Adults in the US under the age of 30 are significantly more likely to use Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and Reddit compared with adults over the age of 30.
