Affective Marketing Proposal Outline.

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I'm a graphic designer who started my own business. I'm a great designer but have no clue where to begin with marketing proposals and need to learn. What is the most affective but general outline for a marketing proposal that can be followed? Are there any good books regarding this subject?

It sounds to me like you could really benefit from reading Rasputin For Hire : An inside look at management consulting between jobs or as a second career. It's directed mostly at management consultants but the principles apply to just about any service business -- including graphic design.

The book has one full chapter on developing a proposal, so you can really dig into that if you want. It also has a sample proposal in the appendix.

Of course, there's a lot of other material in the book that may prove helpful -- pricing your services, identifying likely clients, etc.

You can get the book through Amazon.com or bn.com, at most bookstores in the US, or at www.rasputinforhire.com . That website will also allow you to preview the table of contents, introduction and chapter 1 ... so you can see if you think the book will really be helpful to you.

    Good luck.
