You will learn more if you do the research and think about this independently than if you can somehow convince us to do the work for you.

Most of us have already passed the exams and gone on to gather real-world experience. We don't do homework on this site.

If you want to share your thoughts on this and offer your proposed answer(s) the the question, I know you'll be able to get us to react and comment. But for us to do the heavy lifting? I don't think so.

    Svetie,

Considering the fact that you had been in this forum for quite some time, you should understand that the way you post a question would draw alot of fire.

Now, this doesn't mean that you should not post again.

    Svetie,

Considering the fact that you had been in this forum for quite some time, you should understand that the way you post a question would draw alot of fire.

Now, this doesn't mean that you should not post again.

    Now using your question:

"Define and explain the importance of consumerism and customer relationship marketing is to any business. Use appropriate examples to support your answer"

I would use my usual SEE method to answer it:

    Statement, elaborate and example.

Statement: Define consumerism & CRM (which you can do) and say it is important.

Elaborate: Why are they important? State all the factors. E.g CRM helps retain existing customers, build loyalty--- new customers costs more than exisiting.

Example: "So what helps to retain existing customers , build loyalty?" ----> Loyalty programs etc.

If you have done the above, the question you could have ask was "What activities in CRM helps to retain customers, build loyalty? Other than LOyalty programs (and all the stuff they state in the textbooks)"

YOU WILL GET AN EXPERT ANSWER. (Besides, you don't want people to tell you what the textbook had already told you... ^_< need to score some points!)

Don't dump questions here, refine them.

Good luck for you exams. Maybe you can come back with more questions when your lecturer hands you back your essay.(That was a goooood thing to do!)

    Cheers,
    Benny

To be honest, I didnt take the time to read through you WHOLE essay that you painstakingly posted.

I pinpointed your lecturer's remarks and look at where you supposedly "half-explained".

Trick of the trade: No matter how good you think your answer is (even if it is), the marks come from the lecturer!

Thats why I would suggest you take hint from what the lecturer is looking out for.

What I can understand is that the lecturer is looking for this:

Relationship marketing---> What tools? ----> What do they achieve?----> Why is it good?

You talked about the cases, you talked about customer complaints and Toyota's customisation for customers with JIT system.

You did not explain very clearly what these actions achieve in terms of relationship marketing and how it benefits the company. You did sound like you were referencing a textbook, all that "you can get rid of toyota salesman by leaving the country + Incredibly, Toyota has brought marketing into an entirely different relationship with production management" is totally not answering the question.

Alot more stuff I felt was unnecessary. Face it, your lecturer is marking 100s of paper, he will be looking out for key concepts and words, all that covergirl customer complaint quotation isn't going to help him. This is not a thesis.

    You have only

I also suggest that you have systematic approach to answer. you thoughts seems to be jumbling about.

Identify the problem in relationship marketing- what effects on company then..what they do to solve this problem=remove the problem.

By the way how many marks is distributed to the question? Find the weightage and then applied it to the time.

If this question is only like 20%, then you have a 3 hr exams, then you should just spend approximately 36 minutes on this question.

I'm not in any way saying that I'm good at taking exams.

First, Time management. Are you spending the right amount of time on each question?

Second, prioritize firepower. I know you can write heaps for ANY questions, you have to control you output.

    E.g Consumerism definition- 1 mark
Relationship marketing definition - 1 mark
    Consumerism PRos & Cons - 2 marks
    CRM pro's and cons - 2 marks
    Consumerism example - 2 marks
    CRM example- 2 marks.

Thats 10 marks already. Unless your lecturer gives marks by 0.1 marks.... then you have to write a hell lot of stuff.

I'm a tackle things more logically. WHY DO YOU STUDY CONSUMERISM AND CRM. WHY WHY WHY?

Basically that's the answer to your question. Imagine you are explaining it to some ignorant kid on consumerism and CRM, if you can do it well- you got it. :)

    Good luck for your exams!
