New And Innovative Guerrilla Marketing Ideas

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am looking for any new or innovative guerrilla marketing ideas that would reach middle class working people ages 25 to 60. I have an auto body client that has a modest media budget and I want to use it in the most effective and impactful way. I would like to hit places that the average middle class commuter might go to a couple times a week, i.e. supermarkets, banks, drycleaners… I would also like ideas for tchotchkes that could be used in a car such as air fresheners or garbage bags. I really appreciate and look forward to your creative and helpful input. Thank you!

I filled in my profile info for you to see. I am located in Reno, Nevada. My auto body client services mostly Reno and Sparks, but also has customers in Tahoe and Carson City.

    Good Morning Sarah!
Body Shops - what comes to mind is that I don't care about them, unless I need them. So, as I see it, the challenge is to get me to think of your client if that time arises.

Would it be worth consideration to develop relationships with insurance agencies? I get into an accident, I call my insurance agent and he tells me I need estimates. Can you work with agents to make sure your client is recommended? Can your client serve as a referral for insurance companies? I am sure it has to be an "arms' length" relationship so there is no appearance of collusion. Maybe you get those "bent" pens and say something like "Let us straighten you out" and provide those to gas stations, car dealers, auto parts stores, etc.

I would suggest gas stations and coffee shops as places to try and get some visual impact. If you can find a non-big time (i.e. Starbucks, etc.) coffee shop, maybe you spend some of your money and buy napkins with your client's name and something witty and give them to the coffee shop. Coffee shop saves money and your client gets some exposure.

There's a couple of ideas. Good luck!

You've identified some people that you could (as guerrillas call it) fusion market with. Approach the dry cleaner, etc and ask them to distribute your coupon (or whatever) and you will distribute their coupon at your store. For example, the last time I was at the repair shop with my car-- they gave me a coupon for the local car wash. When I used the coupon, they had brochures from the body shop.

Contact insurance companies -- when someone has an accident they're the first ones we contact. Many car repair shops do not do body work. Find those and ask for those referrals.
