Industry Specific Content For Newsletter

I work for a company that sells high end corporate laser engraved gifts who sells to the souvenirs, gifts and novelty industry. I am going to be creating a quarterly customer email newsletter and it will be customer focused and offers hints and ideas for their business; merchandizing, security, retail tips etc. I was asked by managment to locate a company who specializes in data specific for our industry. I have plenty of information to be used as filler content, but I have been unsuccesful in locating anything very specific. They are willing to pay for the content as long as it is relevant. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might offer. Thank you, Stefanie

    Instead of going the data direction...what about showing how these gifts make a difference. If I took on this project as a writer I'd want to interview big corportae types who have purchased these gift and write their story. The catch is to find people with an incredible story to tell. I'm sure out of your client base there are people that fit the profile you need.

    For instance: You could interview marketing directors who intergrated these into trade show promotions, or operations managers who added these on as security, of the distribution manager who brought these to retail. The key is to show how it's made a different in their branding and company marketshare.

    Thank you for your responses.

    We are the manufacturer or importer of our products, which we laser and we sell to collegiate stores, hotel, airport, concession, gift stores. Places like the Grand Canyon, Ellis Island etc.

    We don't want to focus on our products we want the newsletter to be beneficial to the customer with tips for them. They want hints and tricks of the trade kind of info to increase our customers sales.

    There are 2 trade magazines but they go to out to most of our customers already, so we want something different.

    I appreciate the suggestion about contacting existing clients but that's not the direction management wants.

    They want our customers to get a value out of reading the newsletter and not use it as a sales tool to promote our products.

    Thanks for the ideas but this will be an email newsletter and we don't want any advertising in it. It will be a short 1-2 page informative piece directed to our customerss. The content that management wants is short tidbits aimed to increase our customer's revenues.

    Did you know.... kind of things

    Basically bottom line I need a company who has already gathered the data for my industry and would provide it to us as content. Thanks
