Thoughts On Marketing Beer Shirts To Brewers

Posted by NovaHammer on 125 Points
Hi all,

I'm interested in teaming up with a pro T-Shirt company (I'm not an artist) to market high end shirts to increase Brand awareness and of course increase sales. Breakaway bold branding is my goal for the brewer.

1) How do I measure the potential for him?

2) Thoughts on best cold call approach for shirt producer people and craft/micro beer people?

3) Do I create a tag-team approach for brewer (with my own art department) or arrive as solo marketer?

4) Royalty seems like best payment method so far, any other payment suggestions or problem areas I should be aware off? How do I get paid I guess is the question...

Contract with shirt and brewer is a concern for me hopefully there is a 2nd edition in this T-Shirt idea so I'd like to lock up any future deals and avoid being ripped off or replaced by some inhouse t-shirt or beer house guy! Proprietary protection is my concern although it isn't IT stuff.
5) Is copywriting a worthwhile approach?

6)My buzz will be created by the shirt themes, how do I guard that against theft ... easily? Same question again I guess :(

7) Placing shirts in each case of 24 at the plant I guess has been done before any problems here with ten different designs and perhaps a female cut/style too?

Many thanks for any input.

Thanks all for the quick responses.

DeeDee, it's a bulleye portable highprofile freebie thingy which will stimulate conversation and give the brand mileage usually directly in consumers face at the sharp end versus a shotgun deal the Brewer may followup as they see fit later.

Rb. thanks for the link and handholding, backatchasoon.

    Cheers.

    White Mountain,

"most" is correct but not these guys yet...

Teaming up with another looks like the only way to go but getting past the CMO with a cold call is part of the challenge.

    Help.

    WMMA et al

Best cold call approach should no champion be found?

Send thoughts/package to CEO type or CMO with usual non-disclosure caveat? Who may be most responsive?

Other thoughts anyone versus Cold Call?

    I learning tons, thanks!
