I prefer in person followed by telephone. Once you've made contact request e-mail address and you're off to the races.

There is no perfect formula to get the best sales pitch...but it is much preferred to have it done "in person" because being present wholly would mean having a complete recipe too and a lot of advantages than others. There is personal contact and a possible assurance that you would get the will of the client, which is much higher than through phone or email.

The best approach (mail, phone, in-person) will depend on your budget, the amount of competition you have, as well as the stage of your product or service in the "product life cycle", among other things.

Generally speaking, the more unique the offering, the easier to sell by phone. For products with more competition, in-person selling works better.

The "best sales pitch" will be a new, unique solution, and/or proven solution which addresses an immediate and pressing need of the prospect, in their mind, right now. Since different people (and different companies, and different industries, and different functions within a company) have different needs, the best "pitch" will vary from person to person.

thats pretty funny - apparently Randall (W.M.M.A) and I were basically saying exactly the same thing at exactly the same time. (He said it much better than me, of course...)
