Funny Car Commercial

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I really need help trying to come up with some ideas for a funny car commercial for a local dealership. They want to something thats actually funny and maybe a lttle overtop, unlike many of the car commercials you see that really don't ever make into the funny category at all. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Concepts for a campaign would be great too! Thanks!

Something focusing on a driving professional, who drives hundreds of cars everyweek...but still lusts for YOUR dealers make...

Pull out from his dreamy monologue as he drives and see he is a tow truck driver and never gets the Dealers car broken down .... to 'drive'!

The Customer is always right... The Client rarely is.
(Stores have customers, lawyers and doctors have clients).

You are the doctor trying to heal a low sale count. So I would first test the "Funny" concept and see if it is right for your client. For example: If they sell BMW's to CEO's, funny may not work. These people are serious about their money and they want to know that they are dealing with a car dealer that is serious.

On the other hand, if your client sells VW Bugs, and Scion's to college kids and scoccer moms, then a funny bit might work.

With that being said: If you want a funny spot, with a local dealer - I suggest getting co sponsors, like a movie theater, blockbuster video, etc... You can have have the ideal customer driving off the lot of your client, zipping around to to some of the local (easily identifiable) hot spots around town in a VW Bug, passing a gas station with big SUV's in front of an $8.99 per gallon sign (if your client does not sell SUV's).... etc... you get the idea.
