Best Way To Market Children's Items?

I have recently joined up with a company as an independent rep selling plush animals for children. My question is this: I want to sell these items to places like schools, day care centers, churches, girl scout troops etc... what is the best way to go about doing this?

I am considering just going to these places with a sample animal in hand and giving them a "sales pitch" in person. However this feels sort of forward. But I figure that if I simply call them, they will not see how cute and appropriate these items are (the whole picture's worth a thousand words thing). Or do you think a sales letter / postcard / flyer would be better? What do you all suggest? Thanks!!

    SUCCESS PRESCRIPTION FOR SELLING...

    READ the information below several times
    WRITE down the information
    GET a calendar
    BUY a journal

    (The calendar is so that you can set time frames to execute the methods below. You determine how quick you get there by the dates you put on the things you want. While the journal is for you to keep track of what you learn so that you can continue to apply the proper methodology)

    There are many approaches to take. With the right twist they ALL could possibly work as well but before I share what would be best for you to do I'm always reminded of what my God father Brian Tracy says (I'll paraphrase it).

    "Do what other successful business women and men in your industry do and you'll be successful and if you decide to do otherwise there is nothing I can tell you that will help you". Brian is a man who lives according to principals & laws and what's really important he is very successful.

    AS A RULE...There is nothing new under the Sun.
    I always pay homage to those who have gone before me. Success does leave evidence of it's presence and what I really hear you saying through your question is "How can I become successful in this industry?".

    FIRST... have faith and never deny yourself the right to succeed.

    The #1 reason why people in America fail in business is because they meditate on failure. While my successful experience in the Security industry as a sales consultant could help you I just feel that you would be by passing the relevant experience of those who are succeeding in your industry already...again success leaves evidence.

    SECOND...LEARN THE NATURAL LAWS OF YOUR INDUSTRY...
    Your industry has natural laws that work because they have grown out of the experiences women and men in your industry have learned out of that industry. So please do not fail to apply what has already been learned in your industry...You don't have to recreate the wheel.

    W.CLEMENT STONE SAID..."ASK THE MAN WHO KNOWS"
    The most relevant advice you can gain about the product you are selling will come from the leading sells experts in your industry so ask them what they do?

    THIRD...FIND OUT WHO THE EXPERTS IN YOUR INDUSTRY ARE...
    You need to find out who they are and forge relationships with them. If they are in other cities that would probably be better because they would be less threatened to tell you what they have learned.

    FOURTH...FIND OUT WHO THE CUSTOMERS IN YOUR INDUSTRY ARE...
    You need to find out who they are and discover why they buy plush animals for children. In your conversation with them find out what motivates the children who are the real customers that push their parents to pay for the soft, cute little cuddly animals you sell.

    FIFTH...CONTACT THE MANUFACTURERS IN YOUR INDUSTRY...
    Contact the manufacturers in your industry and if you're really serious about what is at the foundation of what is going on in that industry discover why they make the animals in the first place.

    THERE ARE STORIES IN THE HISTORY...YOU NEED STORIES...
    Learn about the history because in the history are the stories that inspire people to want to participate in your quest to become great in that industry. This is the part most people fail in but this is also the special part most people should never fail to learn more about.

I know the above information works regardless of industry because I have tested it and proved the methods for myself and thousands of others who I have shared these ideas with.     I have been in the dental field for many years and though I am not the dentist I am a licensed myofuntional therapist dealing with oral habits. Many years ago I created a behavior modification program that deals with a harmful habit of thumb, finger and knuckle sucking and biting. My program deals with breaking the habit for children 4 and older. There are NO other programs like mine out there.
    Dentists will normally use very intrusive cemented devices to stop these habit where mine creates no trauma and NO tears!
    It is a full kit that in less than 21 days this habit is gone.
    I created this for my own daughter, used it with patients in my practice in the 90's, marketed it in the parents magazine and sold quite a few open direct to parents.
    Life happened and it sat on the shelf until this year. I have repackage it modernized it from the 90's renamed it and would like to take it back out. Unfortunately due to the death of my husband I am not in the position to spend thousands of dollars for a full campaign. I have no problem with leg work but I am presently a one woman show. Any suggestions on how to get this to market. I have a web site so any suggestions how to drive people to it? I appreciate any suggestions...ToothDeVa
