Keeping Customers Invloved: Need Some Idea's

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am looking for a few unique ideas to get our existing clients more involved in our company. We are currently running a promotion for the month of May -any customer who places an order within a given time is entered to win an Apple -Ipod, as stated on our website www.mmprint.com . To heat things up, I sent out 200 letters to our top clients. This letter has a simple message on it that can only be read by holding it up to a mirror telling the client to give us a call. Some figured it out, some did not however out of 200 letters we receive 164 calls asking what did we send them. We then verbally told them of the promotion and had a great response. I am looking for some similarly unique ideas which I can use to target an already familiar audience.... any thoughts?

Start an unsolicited competition: Coolest Print Job of the Month. Devote a corner of your home page to it. Start it now, for April, and get your staff to be the biased judges. Have runners-up. State why the customer's print job was a winner (weirdest item printed, great use of color, fantabulous copy, astonishing graphic impact). Use quotes from your staff ("I never knew you could emboss a logo on a condom!") and from your winning customers ("I owe it all to my dog, who chewed up the first version of our stationery.") And, naturally, print up an award that winners can display proudly at the office. Eventually you might even earn some local/industry press that brings visibility to you and your winning customers.

Have fun with this!! I am already. ;]

I liked Shelley's idea! Take it one step further and use your data base to promote their product or service via the web. Send out the winner's info each month to your data base along with an invitation to participate in the next contest. Also the winner of the contest receives a prize like JBtron suggested "Double Your Run!"
For those clients who have a need and an opportunity, we will DOUBLE your print run free of charge for labor time - all you pay for is the print (paper)! (That will cover the most expensive part for you and give them a "value-add" that should take them over the line and induce an order.) or you can offer low cost vacation cruises for less than the cost of an MP3 player.

Do you have any form of customer satisfaction survey?

After a customer has placed a job, do you have any formal way to find our how happy they are, what benefits they have received from the work, and why they have chosen to work with your company?

You may get some very good feedback on your market position, as well as be alerted to any concerns or problems. If someone does state a problem or concern, this opens the door for you to call them back in a month (or visit them) to thank them for the feedback, and show what you have done to fix the problem.

How much "more involved" your customers will be in your company will depend on how responsive your company is in responding to their suggestions and concerns.
