Ideas For Seminar Urgent!!!

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi
I`m communication assistant for an executive clothing brand. As we also want to reach the younger executives, we will have one hour in a Seminar promoted by one University to its former students, where we want to teach some basic ideas about image/look management, supported by data-show projection.
Themes like, how to wear a suit, a tie, what to wear/and not to wear, etc...
But we need it to be thrilling and in some way innovative, and not boring. Anyone has some ideas of how to do it?
I need it ASAP.
Thanks,
Tiago

    Hi Tiago,
You could get celebrity Goof Up pictures of "how not to dress/ fashion faux pas" on projector and then side by side show how to wear a suit.
You can get a lot of these pictures on Eonline.

Else you can hire a few models to do a 'What to Wear, What NOT to wear' fashion show. Freeze the models and the voice over can start. And then the music comes back on and the show restarts. Attention grabbing and the audience will wait for the next pause. Also while the voice over or presenter is talking about themes, there are good looking still models to look at. You can use light cleverly to highlight the models in the NOT to wear category while discussing common mistakes while dressing.

Else you can do a fashion through the decades kind of show- where you show the changing face of corporate dressing.

Dress Thin. Dress Fat. - Make sure that you have normal and overweight models for this section. Show them how your executive clothing loses those bulges and pounds. Corporate executives are dying for that.
Best of luck with your show

Perhaps you should do what a hip young brand or boutique would do. Have a fashion show. I am assuming your clothing is for both women and men. This shows off your line and gives you life people to demonstrate with.

It should only take 15 minutes for the show and the music and sex appeal will certainly get attention.

The live demos could be how to dress and not dress in a business environment. Show someone dressed for clubbing and another the way you feel is most appropriate. Do this for each major point that supports your line of clothing. Stay away from the data show and use the models to support your premise.

The number one complaint from meeting attendees is boring presentations with poorly prepared visuals.

At the end offer a free consultation in store.

I like TLC's "What Not To Wear" show or "How Do I Look?". You could do a take on that. Maybe pick some willing volunteers from the audience and re-do them.
Or promote it ahead of the show to get volunteers and plan it better.
