Where Can I Get Information On Obtaining Sponsorship?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I want to start a business that requires equipment for which I will provide advertising in return. I would like to know how to approach a company for the goods that I need and offer them a specific contract in exchange for advertising.

Probably best to just contact companies who have products which would be of interest.

If you were a non-porofit, I would tell you to contact community relations. But as a company, you would probably need to sell the benefit of what you are doing to the marketing or PR group within the company. The closer you can get your benefit statment to what matters to them (how doing this will make them money), the better your chance of getting something.

If the company works in a field where there is a lot of sponsorship, then see if they have a sponsor coordinator. Most sports equipment companies have sponsor coordinators.

There are several ways to appraoch it. Personally, I feel a specifically designed plan of attack is going to help you more than general advice.

Feel free to send me an email if you require further assistance.
