Overview On Swot, Pest And Porter

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am comparing analysis methods for my master thesis and I need to get an overview on different methods like SWOT, PEST and the Five forces model. The idea is that they are placed in the different categories micro, meso, macro and global economic situations. My professor gave me the hind that SWOT is in meso and PEST in macro but now i need to get this founded by literature (and not just wikipedia if you now what i mean). Can anyone help me finding the right literature (books or articles)?

I think the question you pose is best answered by understanding the various analysis methods and drawing your own conclusions, supporting them with a tight rationale and some examples, and then determining when each is most appropriately used.

This isn't a question that can be quickly and easily researched. Your professor is probably challenging you to think this through on your own, and then to commit yourself to a point of view. There isn't any pat answer that you can find by searching the literature.

Good luck. This is a neat thesis idea.
