Job Title

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am getting ready for my 2 year review with my employer, a small company of about 25 employees, and I am interested in a title change that will help my marketing career. My current title is Account Manager and I am essentially managing client accounts, projects and budgets in addition to managing the the team of consultants on each account. Recently, Marketing Coordinator duties have been added to my job description but since marketing has been neglected for so long I am finding that I am inventing company procedures as I go. Where I really excel is crisis management and client retention. I have been able to turn client crises, whether our fault or not, into long term contracts. I have been responsible for 55% of all contracts we've sold this year.

I don't think that Account Manager does my job duties justice anymore. I was thinking about asking for a Business Development Manager title. Is that a bit of a stretch? I have only been in my current line of work for 2 years but I feel like I have the sales numbers to back up the title.
