Website Content Management System

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Can you recommend a content management system for our new website? I need a system that will handle all the content, including the press area, the monthly newsletter (hosting for sure; newsletter distribution optional). Hosting must be on our servers.

My budget is reasonable, but I'd prefer something with 0 or low licensing fees year over year.

Thank you for the open source list! Very helpful.

Does anyone know of a turnkey software solution that we can license? I know I said 0 or low cost...but I'll need a range of options to show our team and I'm sure they'll ask the question!

Adobe Contribute is what I have used since inception. https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=contribute+adobe&source...
Try a free download to try it out for 30 days before you commit. Adobe is cutting edge and come highly recommended.
The cost is $149. for the latest full version. You can probably find it for less if you want to shop around.
Let us know what you end up with & Good luck!

Go to www.interspire.com. They have a system that you can adapt to your own site and the cost is about $250.00. It is a very good system. You can even get a year of hosting free with it if you like, or they will install it on your servers. The server must be able to handle PHP.

Contribute from Macromedia is also a good content management tool. It works off of your desktop so no server requirements. I think it is still under $200.00

Thank you everyone! I checked into all the system's you suggested and am investigating RedDogSoftware more closely. At first glance, they seem to fit our needs & budget best.
