Valentines Day Promotion Ideas For A Ff Restaurant

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Just wondering if anyone had any really good ideas for valentine's day promotions or giveaways for a healthy grilled chicken fast food restaurant with a tiny budget. last year we did a free godiva chocolate bar with the purchase of 25 dollars in gift cards, with little success. thanks in advance for the help.

yeah, giving away chocolate at a "healthy fast food" joint probably won't work well.

Try to find complimentary products/services to go with yours and establish a partnership. Gym membership trials, discounted physicals with a local doctor, discounts on workout products...etc. These are a little extreme, but you get the idea.

It's to try to find out who your customers are (target market). What else would they want? What are they're lifestyles like? How can you extend your product/service beyond the restaurant?

My question is who gives gift cards to quick serve restaurants for Valentine's day? It doesn’t seem like the kind of gift somebody would give. I may be way off base here but maybe you can save your money and do a different promotion not tied into Valentine's Day.

Direct Mail is always good ...especially during V-Day if done effectively. Click on my name above to get info. I can help you with the DM campaign.

Could it be the Godiva Chocolates didn't work because you are a "healthy" restaurant?

If you gave your partner a trip to the gym, you'd be dead meat-- that sends an unromantic subliminal message.

When I owned a restaurant (though fine dining) these are ideas you might be able to scale:

I gave a rose to every woman coming in.

Fusion partner with a day spa-- or a masseuse. Masseuses are always underbooked and looking for new clients.

Team up with a promo with someone like the Heart Institute, "give your heart" type campaign. I would often team a nonprofit with an art show. There are also plenty of lesser known artists that love a place to display. Take silent bids on the artwork with a portion of the proceeds to the nonprofit. They will all send clients to you. This is always newsworthy and my local press always came.

Why limit it to V-Day. Do a pre Vday event, a fashion show, make up tips, (here is a place for the gym) for the gals.

Once, (it was prom season) I did a Miss Manners class-- teenage guys came to learn the basics, from which silverwear to use -- to one asking how to use his new almost off to college credit card.

    hope that helps!

    "Heart 2 Beat" Chicken sandwich.

Fast food and valentines don't really go together in my mind. Really, you're looking to save some guy's hide right? I mean, guys are usually the forgettor not the forgotten.

Go to the Dollar Store and buy about 100 or so generic valentines day cards (they're about 50 cents each) and 3 days before VDay ask each person if they've picked up a card yet. If they didn't GIVE them one and a coupon to come back on V-Day.

If you use the ideas above, you could also give out the flower coupon with the card.

I might be off base here, since single people might like to hide on VDay, but could you do something for the single people on Valentine's Day?

It'd have to be tactfully messaged. It's fast food and perfect for single people on Valentine's Day.
