Web Addresses

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am working on a job for a small company starting out. Under my better judgement, they want to use their website address as their company name (also used in their logo) and leave off the www....

allwallmountedaquariums.com

They came to be for logo design, brochures, flyers, tag lines, etc after they created the website. Too late to change it now..they already started advertising and got about 800 views on their website in just a week or so...

my question....is there a marketing "rule" that says do not use uppercase letters in a website? They want to do this...

AllWallMountedAquariums.com

I say stick with this...allwallmountedaquariums.com...because in general consumers are used to seeing a website in lowercase. I think it makes it harder to make out the web address in the above.

Am I wrong? Are they right? Does it matter? Anyone have any suggestions????

I agree with you - I like the lowercase, am more accustomed to seeing lowercase, and find the URL more legible in lowercase.

Do you know if there is a marketing "rule" (persay) for this?

THANKS SO MUCH! I am going to sway them to stick with the lowercase URL.
