Is This A Good Web Tool For A .org?

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
Hi - my client is a .org interested in raising money and awareness for a serious political issue. We have decided to use video on her site to have her tell her very compelling personal story - her web designer has suggested she use this effect: www.centralmasswebdesign.com with the walk-on spokesperson. My initial reaction is that it is too showy for a serious medical issue site. What do you all think? Remember - this is a woman who may get tearful during her monologue. The client likes it but I'm not convinced. Thanks!

Seems like it would be more appropriate for Viagra and Cialis web sites to read the small print stuff like: if you experience an erection that lasts more than four hours....

And, the walk on feature according to the source code, can be ordered from: https://www.webpeople.us/

My two cents worth. It is too much.

Whoa! Thanks Darcy! When you see the webpeople.us it really highlights how surreal the whole thing is. Any other opinions?

hi- I agree with you- its too jazzy for a serious emotional pitch. Avoid at all costs else will be a case of wrong media selection.

I would agree with you klafrance. It is a bit promotional, but that is just my opinion. Also, I am not a fan of starting a video when a person first visits a site. It is intrusive. It is better to allow them to be moved to view the video.
