Grand Opening Ideas Needed

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm planning our grand opening of our association and need some ideas fast. I want this to be a lot of fun and not boring where people are looking to leave right away. Our association is Wisconsin Biotech and Medical Device Association. Part of our association is that we have large, medium, and small companies that deal with mostly Biotechnology and Medical fields (GE, Thermo Fisher, Pfizer, Abbott, etc). How can we make this fun? What kind of giveaways should we have?

Let's start off with your goal before we delve into tactics. What's your goal?

To familiarize all local biotech/medical companies with your association? To get them to join? Or would you expect them to just find out about you, and join later? Are you targeting a small number of high-level contacts (CEOs, VPs, etc.), or do you want a large number of all contacts? Is there a particular agenda or theme you're pushing?

Our coming has just moved, so we really aren't recuiting. It is just a grand opening of our new location that we want people to see. Our main list will be the 300 organizations that are members, prospects, and govenment officals.

Some games: disassemble a small machine, and have people compete to reassemble it (correctly) fast, match the medical device to its output (xray, spectrograph, etc.), match the device to the company (hide the logo on the device), etc.

Wisconsin? Beer and Brats! Go to Mt. Horeb to the Mustard Museum.

Is there someway to do a take-off on cheese heads? Can you do something similar - Or something regarding the Packers? The Packers are champs - so are you members -

Have each member donate one of their premium giveaways - that'll give you 300 prizes to giveaway. Or see if you can finagle tickets to a Packer game as door prizes.

    Good Luck!
