Slogan Dilemma

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am a Realtor in the business for about 5 years now. My slogan has always been "Selling Uptown and Beyond." I use "Uptown" because that's were I lived and we were redeveloping the neighborhood. I have since moved and I feel I need a new slogan to redirect attention back to my ads with a new slogan and design I get most of my business through referrals but feel I could draw some more outside clients through new ads. Any suggestions?

Most every Realtor make a huge mistake by trademark names when it comes to web positioning. Start by owning a domain name that pertains to what you do and where, but don't make it a long one. For instance if you sold real estate in South Florida try to own a domain name that would drive traffic to your website. For instance www.southfloridanewhomes.com.

It's more important to have a domain and website that will help you fine new referrals than a brand name. You can always trade mark a new name on your site pages to distinguish you from your competitors, but you first need to get a good domain.

Attorneys are the worst when it comes to choosing a domain name.

All of your suggestions are great. I don't do much advertising but the little I do, works! It keeps people reminded of me when it comes to real estate. I own a great domain i.e. www.katiesellsmemphis.com but have not the time to finish developing it. I'm a life long resident of my city, am 26 years old and do pretty well for myself. Being that I've moved and the market has been a little slow, I thought I would mix up my consistent ads a little and change my slogan. I had tried to draw the fresh, new (but not inexperienced) look into the slogan. That's were I'm stuck. Thanks again for all your great feedback. It's helped much.

Personally I think consistency is more important than anything. Given your age I am assuming you have not yet beaten this slogan into the ground yet.

I understand you no longer live uptown, but that really was only inside baseball info anyway. If this is working for you and there is nothing untrue about the statement (then or now) I would continue to ride this horse.

How about sticking to your old motto slightly, as people know you like this and recognise the brand. So change to " Selling uptown..and downtown"??

Focus on your ad's copy first. That's what people care about.

A couple of variations of your existing tagline (to keep some consistency):

    Selling Beyond Your Expectations
    Beyond Just Property...Service, Too.
