Close Ties With An International News Group

I am toying with the idea to contact a few of the major global media networks to investigate if we can work together. I am 2nd in command for an international network for local and regional decision makers (sorry, but here and now I can't be more specific).

If it was you - how would you go about? And perhaps more important - would you at all go down this road?

I am not looking for an exclusive co-operation, more a situtation where the media partner is a preferred partner.

    Think of the power relationship - what do you offer them in their grand scheme of things, what could they offer you. My guess is that the latter is much more than the former. So how do you become indispensible to them? What can you give them that they can't get through their correspondents and affiliated news stories and what would you be able to deliver to their customers that they themselves don't deliver to their customers at the moment.

    May be you can offer them a particular audience, but you should at least know if they're reaching this audience already and that it has value to them. May be some baby steps first, syndication, a small business relationship to learn more about them.
