I am sure that there are good offers and there are gimmicks mixed into what you are seeing. It can be tough to tell the difference.

I'd recommend starting with the tried and true such as Google Adwords. One of the reasons I choose Google was because of their worldwide presence. I run Adwords campaigns in English and I even run them in Chinese.

If you aren't familiar with what Google or other search engines have to offer you can educate yourself in an afternoon by picking up any of the "dummies guide to.." type books. I chose "The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords" that was published by Entrepreneur Magazine. It was very helpful and inspiring. While at times it was a little too optimistic, it allowed me to educate myself very quickly.
