How To Implement Advertising On Your Blog

I need to get some ideas on how to generate income through advertising on a WordPress blog. It's a niche topic pertaining to music and action sports i.e. skate boarding, snowboarding, etc...

What options are available for WordPress? I want it to be specific to the content of the blog. Not just some Google Ad words or the like.

    Google Ads will usually contact you once your blog generates significant traffic.

    Thanks for the responses thus far! According to the WordPress blog stats the blog receives an average of 1500 views daily.

    Most important to me is control over who gets ad space. The blog is very selective about what it shares and promotes and I refuse to dilute that at any cost. Getting the most bang for the buck is second. Because the blog is so niche and true to that audience, I believe there is added value there. What's the best way to capitalize on that?

    A slightly different question is regarding statistics. What is the best tool to get detailed statistical information about the blog, who's checking it, for how long, etc.?

    I've heard that you can use Google's tracking software with a wordpress blog.
