Posted by moher86 on 125 Points
Hello!

Next year I´ll get my degree in Integrated Communications of Marketing (IMC), but I would like to focuss on e-marketing, so I wanted to know your opinion about where is the best on-line way to get my specialization in e-marketing.
I´ve visited www.emarketingassociation.com, but I´d really apreciate some feedback about this place or informartion about others.
Thank you for your time

There are many foundations in Internet Marketing which are mostly content based:

    Optimization SEO AND PPC
    E-mail Marketing
    Internet Video Production
    Article / Blog Management
    Web Site Design and Programming
    Analytics and Monetization Strategy
    Flash Design
    Internet Advertising

    Plus so much more...

Thank you so much for your responses, can I have more information about the reputation and quality of education of these institutions?

Don't forget the non-institutional sources! Watching the marketing profs webcasts can provide a great deal of very practical tips. I would augment that with other online sources as well as conferences.

I'm a big believer in on the job experience over academics. Results trump certifications and degrees in my book. Try to find a position that will allow you to gain real world experience in e-marketing.

Finally, any certifications or degrees in e-marketing will be quickly out of date if you don't play around with new technologies. Study, on your own if necessary, social networking tools such as corporate blogs, Twitter, branded social networking, Facebook, etc. Not all of them have an obvious application, but you can bet that some of them will become the new platform for reaching customers and prospects.

If you can't find a program that will allow you to earn a specific degree or certification, don't despair. If you can show future potential employers how you went out and got the knowledge on your own initiative you will have a compelling competitive advantage.
