Need Ad Dollars To Pay Website Expenses

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am a young high school student with a great concept for an educational / young entrepreneur type of web page. Unfortunately, I'll need to pay to hang the site and that costs $$. Yes, I must pay bc my core content involves about 28 sub-web pages that will draw my core audience (science nerds). Although I'd love a "real income" eventually, my primary goal is to get the site to pay for the expenses and then tweak and the site with bells and whistles. A couple of fun second tier projects I've considered: a fun interactive patent / invention game page and a research team page (teams combined by taking surveys and analysis I develop to create academically gifted "dream teams"). Anyhow. How much $$ can I earn with, say, 500 - 1000 unique visits per week? I need traffic goals and I'm not really selling anything yet.

    It all depends.
I once created a web site and now it is out there somewhere living its own life and not being updated sine one year.

I'm using Google Adsense on it, maybe my data could help you to get an idea.

Google analytics data for one month:
    3,376 Visits
    15,314 Pageviews
    4.54 Pages/Visit
    30.66% Bounce Rate
    00:02:05 Avg. Time on Site
    92.51% % New Visits

Google Adsense data for a little over one month:
    Page impressions: 72,560
    Clicks: 1,098
    Earnings: $154.79

    Referrals:
    Clicks: 1,552
    Earnings: $4.52

All together I make around $159.31 a month on a dead web site that I don't update or take care of.

I'm sure you can do much better then that.

Why don't you go with godaddy and their free hosting?
